Frankenstein Fender?

22nd Century is remaining a three piece band. In order to cover the extra leads when we play live, I have acquired a rare doubleneck body and am building a Cremer/Fender hybrid doubleneck. The guitar will have a standard American Precision Bass on the bottom and strat on the top. Playing live will be a bit tricky as I'll have to switch back and forth between lead and bass while Tim learns to play guitar and bass pedals at the same time.

Here are the photos:

  1. Geddy Lee really has been a bad influence on you, it seems.

I mean, isn't that what every bass player wanted to do since John Entwhistle... play lead bass?

if you chose Shergold guitars instead of Fenders, you could do a Mike Rutherford...

be warned, when assembled, it's gonna weigh a bit on stage...

  2. Already pumping up with weights. I figure the pig will weigh in at 12 lbs or so. BTW - I am actually a lead player who loves bass, not the other way around ;-) Here is a sample of my lead:

  3. I was thinking about building something like this but every time I mention it guitar players make fun of me. I am starting to think they just fear for their gigs.

  4. hahaha - guitarists are wise to fear us dual-instrument geniuses! Now I just need to learn how to play bass pedals.
